Adam Maher

Optical Dispenser

Born and raised in Singleton, Adam knew he wanted to be an optometrist from an early age. Being diagnosed with myopia when he was 13 years old, he got to experience the difference the right pair of glasses could make. Adam wanted to be able to make that difference in other people’s lives and set his sights on becoming an optometrist.

After finishing year 12 at Singleton High School, Adam moved to Sydney and completed his Bachelor of Optometry at the University of New South Wales. He was also commended with the Neville Fulthorpe award for clinical excellence.

Adam’s first job as a qualified optometrist was at Singleton OPSM. After this, he returned to live in Sydney for the next ten years. In this time, he worked in small and medium sized practices in Sydney, Bondi Junction, Parramatta, and the Central Coast. Adam also completed his Therapeutics qualification back at the University of New South Wales.

Before moving back to Singleton to start his own practice he wanted to experience practices outside of NSW and worked as a locum in Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, and Hervey Bay. Armed with a range of experiences, Adam was now ready to move back to Singleton with Anna and open The Eye Place.
